Semi-annual update 21

Holy crap, it's been way too long since I updated this blog. I'm gonna try to make six months the absolute max I'll go without posting here, but my excuse is I've been just crazy busy working on the game! These days I've been spending every spare minute getting it ready for PAX West and then some, and I dare say this past month has been my most productive month ever, which really is saying a lot considering I've got a full time day job now. But why do I need a day job, you ask? Because I have a wife, and wives require money, but I digress... here's the list of new stuff I've gotten done:

Three chairmen have been created with extra large size and health and unique voices, and the keep will spawn one at random when attacked.
Updated the UI in several areas.
The narrator voice was reworked and all its audio replaced, plus he now gives demon status alerts and coaches you on gameplay.
Subtitles were added for the narrator, and an option to toggle them added to the pause menu.
Fov slider added to pause menu as well
More portals were added
More sound effects were added
Demon cannabilism added - demons drop rotten meat when they die, can be eaten by other demons but its quite chewy so it takes 2.5x longer to consume.
Building meat drops reworked - two story houses more likely to give more meat
Ant demon's aggro radius greatly increased when tossing people, to allow for greater range skill shots
Kittens returned to 100% chance to spawn bonus portal on death
Demons go ham a little easier, but its also a little easier to recover them by feeding them extra meat
Secret areas found added to score on victory (there is one on the demo, it contains three kittens)
Very many bugs were fixed. I might even bet I got most of them
Revamped the way menu buttons work
Revamped which stats contribute to final score
Player item tweaks / debugging
Reduced mouse sensitivity during spaulder charge, to make it feel more chargey
Updated portal visuals
Added lightning strikes to indicate bonus portal spawning
plus so much debugging that the game is running 15% faster just cuz

I also participated in a panel at Denver Pop Culture Con this year but never got copies of the pictures to share...

    Anyone else in the panel could have saved pictures, did you contact them?
